Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds in every sense. They are chemically, physically, and optically identical to natural diamonds. The only difference is their origin.

While natural diamonds are typically mined from the earth’s crust, lab created diamonds are manufactured in high tech laboratories using extensive heat and pressure to mimic the natural processes that occur in the earth over millions of years.

Lab-grown diamonds are produced in highly specialized manufacturing facilities using advanced technology that replicates the natural diamond formation process. Each diamond begins with a small diamond seed and is created through either Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) or High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) methods, both of which form layers of pure carbon into a finished diamond over the course of several weeks or months. While the processes differ, both produce real diamonds with the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as natural diamonds.

Unlike lab-grown diamonds, diamond simulants such as cubic zirconia and moissanite are not true diamonds and do not share the same chemical composition or crystal structure. While simulants may resemble diamonds at first glance, they differ in hardness, optical performance, and durability over time. Lab-grown diamonds, by comparison, are chemically and visually identical to natural diamonds, offering the same lasting brilliance and beauty.

However, because they are formed differently, lab-grown and natural diamonds exhibit distinct growth patterns and fluorescent properties that can be identified by gemologists using specialized equipment and magnification.
